Proud to be a Liberal. The Republican Party has succeeded in demonizing the word Liberal which actually means: "Not limited to or by established traditional, orthodox or authoritarian attitudes, views or dogmas; free from bigotry, favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded" -the American Heritage dictionary-. These are exactly my convictions, so what the hell are they talking about ? :)

Anybody else out there feel while watching Memorial Day Services that President Bush is a traitor to the very people we were honoring yesterday? He betrays all that these people died to make sure we would have. And it doesn't seem that people are upset about this, and I think that is because of fear. There are those of us who are afraid of terrorist acts, which is what the Bush-Cheney camp has pushed, and those who are afraid of Bush throwing us in prison without being charged and given the right to call anyone or defend ourselves. As James Madison, 4th U.S. President, said, "I believe there are more instances of abridgement of the rights of the people by the gradual and silent encroachemnt of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpation".
